WBU Theatre Program Opens Season With “The Good Doctor”

Williams Baptist University’s theatre program is set to open its 2018-19 season with “The Good Doctor.”  The production will run Friday, Nov. 2, through Saturday, Nov. 3.

“The Good Doctor” is a comedy with music written by Neil Simon. It consists of short plays, based on short stories and other works by Russian author Anton Chekhov. The stories are tied together through a writer, played by Kristin Britt of Chandler, Texas.

This marks the second time Williams has performed the play, with the first being the fall of 2008.  “This season marks my 35th year at WBU,” said Melinda Williams, director of the production.  “I wanted to do something I had directed before. I started my career with a Neil Simon show, and since he recently died, I thought it would be a good tribute to do one of his shows.”     MORE
