UA Suspends Fraternity

UA Lambda Chi Alpha

The University of Arkansas has suspended the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity for one school year after they violated conduct rules regarding hazing.

The fraternity was found to have committed four conduct violations: Hazing, Violation of School Safety Systems, Disorderly Conduct and Conduct that Endangers the Health and Safety of Any Person.

In February, a woman filed suit, saying photos of her engaged in sexual activity were taken during a party at the Lambda Chi Alpha House in 2017, and they were shared without her permission.

The lawsuit and the suspension are two separate incidents.

The university suspended the fraternity in April. The fraternity appealed, and the suspension was upheld in May.

The fraternity will be eligible for reinstatement at the end of the 2019 spring semester.
