Thurston To Welcome Girls And Boys State To The Arkansas State Capitol
LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston will host the attendees of Girls and Boys State at the Arkansas State Capitol in coordination with the American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Department of Arkansas. For over seventy-five years, young men and women from across the state have visited the State Capitol during their week-long educational program of civic engagement. Girls State will come to the Capitol on Thursday, May 30, and Boys State will visit on Friday, May 31.
“It is my pleasure to welcome these students to our state’s Capitol building as they engage in the political process. I know they will come to love our history and this magnificent building as much as I do. As young citizens of this state, I hope that their visit here will ignite a fire to serve in the future,” said Thurston. MORE
