Storms Roll Through Central Arkansas

Tens of thousands of people in Arkansas are without power today after strong storms moved through late last night into this morning, downing trees and power lines.

Entergy was reporting more than 100,000 customers were without power during the peak of the storms. North Little Rock Electric says over 7,000 of its customers were without power. As of 8:00 Thursday morning about 15,000 homes were still without power.

The National Weather Service said official measurements showed winds peaked as high as 64 mph in the state capital. Large hail was also seen, including some that measured an estimated 4 inches in diameter in Polk County.
