Sheriff’s Office Gets Naloxone Kits

Thanks to a grant secured by the University of Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute and the State Drug Director’s office, the Independence County Sheriff’s Department received 40 life-saving Naloxone kits to help fight opioid overdose.

Doctor Cheryl May from Criminal Justice Institute presented the kits to Sheriff Shawn Stephens and Investigator Michael Moody.

In July, 49 naloxone kits were donated to the Searcy Police Department from a grant program funded by the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas.
