Road Improvements Green Lighted

ARDOT

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved several bids for improvements to area roadways.

In Sharp County:

The purpose of this project is to resurface approximately 1.9 miles of selected sections of various city streets in Cherokee Village to include Lakeshore Drive, Sequoyah Ridge, Hiawatha, Pontiac, and Iroquois; and in Highland to include Ridge Crest Drive and Valley Heart Drive.

Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $633,694.20.

In Van Buren County:

The purpose of this project is to widen approximately 8 miles of U.S. Highway 65 to four lanes. The improvements extend from Clinton northward to State Highway 110.

Bobby Kennedy Construction Company of Quitman was awarded the contract at $33,984,382.53.

In White County:

The purpose of this project is to resurface 3.5 miles of State Highway 11 from the Prairie County line, northward.

Vance Brothers, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri, was awarded the contract at $181,789.18.

In Woodruff County:

The purpose of this project is to replace a bridge structure on State Highway 17 near Howell.

Kesser International, Inc. of Little Rock was awarded the contract at $764,772.80.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2019.
