Overnight Lane Closure On Interstate 40 In Galloway

PULASKI COUNTY Repairs to the temporary impact attenuator at the Valentine Road/State Highway 391 interchange require a temporary overnight lane closure on Interstate 40, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, on Wednesday, May 30, crews will close the I-40 outside westbound lane from the Valentine Road overpass to the State Highway 391 overpass from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to repair the temporary impact attenuator (TIA).

A TIA, also known as a crash cushion, is a device intended to reduce the damage to structures, vehicles, and motorists resulting from a motor vehicle collision. They are designed to absorb the colliding vehicle’s impact or redirect the vehicle away from a hazard, machinery, or workers.

Traffic will be controlled with signage and traffic barrels. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @myARDOT.
