Operation Clean Sweep Nets 257 Parole And Probationers

A coalition of state and federal police agencies arrest 257 people in Arkansas who are accused of skipping out on their paroles and probations.

Arkansas Department of Community Correction officials announced the results of Operation Clean Sweep at a news conference yesterday at the Little Rock DEA office.

ACC, along with more than six-dozen law enforcement agencies, would pick up 257 absconders statewide from May 13th-June 21st.

According to a report compiled by ACC, 31 were apprehended in southeast Arkansas, 65 were taken into custody in southwest Arkansas, 37 were arrested in northwest Arkansas, 46 placed in cuffs in northeast Arkansas and 78 were returned to jail in central Arkansas.

In addition to the arrests made, authorities seized numerous drugs and illegal guns – including 70 firearms of various types and sizes, 843 grams of methamphetamine, 395 grams of marijuana, 50 marijuana plants, 4.5 grams of crack cocaine, 5 ounces of Promethazine, a gram of mushrooms, and a gram of Fentanyl.
