On-Line School Threat

Searcy High

Authorities at Searcy High School were informed of an on-line threat to the school on Wednesday.

After an investigation, it has been determined that the online threat is from an individual calling himself Ray Andres and it is being circulated throughout a number of cities that have schools that use the abbreviation SHS.

As a precaution, the Searcy School District will have an increased police presence today.

The Searcy School District along with local law enforcement will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Meanwhile, Parents of Simon Middle School students in Conway received an email Tuesday afternoon regarding a student bringing ammunition to school.

The e-mail reads in part: “Simon Parents – With the current climate in mind, we want to make you aware of an incident that happened at school today that your child may come home talking about.”

“This morning we confiscated some ammunition from a student who brought it to school accidentally.” The email states that the contraband was “recovered without incident” and no weapons were found at school.

Earlier Tuesday, the Conway Police Department arrested a 15-year old Conway Jr. High student threatening to carry a shotgun to school to shoot a particular student “and Mexicans.”
