New Post For ASU-Beebe’s Bailey

Suzanne Bailey
Arkansas Department of Education Commissioner Johnny Key is pleased to announce that Dr. Suzanne Bailey has been named the new assistant commissioner for Educator Effectiveness and Licensure. Bailey starts December 3rd and replaces Dr. Jeremy Owoh, who was appointed superintendent at the Pine Bluff School District.

“Ms. Bailey’s experience in K-12 and higher education has prepared her for her new role as the assistant commissioner for Educator Effectiveness and Licensure,” Key said. “Not only does she have a firm foundation in academic and fiscal best practices, Ms. Bailey also streamlined processes on the local district level to improve efficiency. I welcome her to the ADE team.”
Prior to joining ADE, Bailey served as the academic dean of career/technical education at Arkansas State University in Beebe since 2017. She also has been an adjunct associate professor for educational leadership at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro since 2014. Bailey’s previous employment history includes serving as superintendent of the Lonoke, Waldron and Maynard School Districts, junior high school principal in the Newport School District, elementary principal in the
