New Police Chief In Searcy

On Friday, Searcy Mayor Kyle Osborne announced he has named Lieutenant Steve Hernandez as Searcy’s new Police Chief.

Hernandez has been in law enforcement since 2001 when he started at the Van Buren Sheriff’s Department.

He worked at the Searcy Police Department for three years before moving to the White County Sheriff’s Department from 2007-2013. He returned to the Searcy Police Department in 2013 and was promoted to Corporal in June of 2013, promoted to Sergeant in February 2015 and Lieutenant in July of 2018.

Hernandez replaces retiring Searcy Police Chief Eric Webb.
