More Burn Bans Issued

All of the state is now under moderate or high wildfire danger and four counties have burn bans in effect thanks to the lack of significant rainfall.

Staff Meteorologist Alan Archer says there’s no rain in the forecast until next Tuesday so burn bans may be issued to more counties.

So far, Conway, Perry, Searcy and Van Buren Counties have burn bans in effect.

Arkansas Forestry Commission lists 66 counties as having moderate wildfire danger including Cleburne, Conway, Faulkner, Jackson, Independence, Izard, Lawrence, Lonoke, Perry, Prairie, Pulaski, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White and Woodruff.  The other nine counties in the southeast corner of the state are under a high wildfire danger.
