September 12, 2019

A Faulkner County man was formally charged Monday afternoon with first-degree murder in connection to the September 3rd death of 22-year old Rachel King, of Booneville.
27-year old Morgan Richard Weatherford, of Greenbrier, was formally charged in Logan County Circuit Court with first-degree murder, residential burglary and theft of property in connection to King’s death.
According to a court affidavit, Weatherford broke into King’s home in Booneville by climbing through one of her three children’s bedroom windows.
Weatherford admitted to “crawling” into a young boy’s bedroom before strangling King “with his hands.”
Authorities say King’s three children were reportedly at the home when she was killed.
Weatherford is currently being held in the Logan County jail on a $1 million bond and faces a sentence up to life in prison.
