Melbourne Airport Gets FAA Grant
July 11, 2019
CrainMedia

WASHINGTON – U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao announced that the Federal Aviation Administration will award $495 million in airport infrastructure grants, the second allotment of the total $3.18 billion in Airport Improvement Program funding for airports across the United States.
Among those is the airport in Melbourne which will receive funding to help with key infrastructure needs for the future.
The Melbourne Municipal-John E. Miller Field received $177,300.
The funding for the project will help to update the airport’s Master Plan Study. Earlier this year, federal authorities said several other airports including Searcy and Walnut Ridge received funding.
Overall, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced that $477 million in grants was given to 264 airports around the country, including 26 in Arkansas. MORE
