Medicaid Spending $22 Million Lower

The Arkansas Department of Human Services released its Medicaid Transformation Savings Scorecard and Quarterly Report on Monday showing millions in savings for overall Medicaid spending from the previous fiscal year.

Governor Asa Hutchinson issued the following statement praising the achievements outlined in the report:

“I’m delighted by the most recent report from DHS that shows an historic decrease of $22 million in total Medicaid spending in Arkansas from the previous fiscal year. What’s more, year-over-year spending in Medicaid has been held to zero growth — an unprecedented achievement for our state.

“Not only do these numbers mark real savings, but they further prove that our ongoing transformation efforts are paying off while ensuring services are maintained for those most in need.   MORE
