Man Arrested For Burning Car And Threatening Law Enforcement

On August 23, 2019 around 11:57 am, Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house on Ridge Drive in West Pangburn in reference to a male that had allegedly lit a car on fire, and was carrying a rifle down the road screaming that he was going to kill himself and any law enforcement that showed up.

As deputies approached the house, the male, later identified as Justin Griffin, 36 of Heber Springs, could be heard yelling, and kept going in and out of the house. A neighbor reported that Justin had fired several rounds from a rifle off the front porch in the direction the deputies were approaching, however it is not believed at this time that he was shooting at law enforcement. The neighbor also reported that Justin was coming in and out of the house repeatedly, holding the rifle and yelling each time. After some time, Justin emerged from the house and deputies were able to take him into custody without further incident.   MORE
