Local Lottery Winners

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery

Two area residents are the most recent winners of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

An Independence County man is $500,000 richer after playing a $20 200X the Money instant ticket game.

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery says Floyd Owens, of Batesville, bought his winning ticket at the Duggar’s Food Mart on Central Avenue in Batesville.

Owens says he hardly plays instant tickets, but chose this ticket because it was in bin #2 at the store and 2 is his lucky number.

Owens said he first told his brother about the prize and plans to save the money.

Meanwhile, Kaitlyn Campbell, of Cabot, is two for two.

She bought her first instant ticket on her 18th birthday, and won $10. Two days later, she bought a $100,000 winner playing 50X the Money from the Kum & Go in Cabot.

Campbell says she’s going to save her winnings for college.
