Lead With Love Mural Contest

Small Business Revolution

Anyone wishing to submit a design for the “Lead With Love” mural funded by the producers of “Small Business Revolution — Main Street” have until midnight this Sunday.

The mural will be painted on the side of Crafton’s Furniture and Appliances, 215 W. Race Avenue.

It’s one of the community projects gifted to Searcy after winning the competition to be featured on the HULU reality show. Co-host Amanda Brinkman announced the “Lead with Love” mural design challenge during the filmed finale and Beats and Eats street festival in June.

The winning submission artist gets $1,000 and will have the design brought to life by local muralist Jason White with White’s Artworks on the side of the furniture store.

The rules, posted by Deluxe Corp., state “Your design should reflect the idea that every race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, special ability and country of origin is met with love and that Searcy is committed to leading with love in each interaction, creating a safe space for visitors, residents and students to be welcomed and loved for who they are. Include any words or phrases you feel best represent this concept.”

The Deluxe Corp. review committee will evaluate and select three designs. Those designs will then go to an online vote by Searcy residents as well as the Downtown Council.

The template and reference photograph for your design can be found on the Searcy.com Facebook page.
