Independence County Arrests
July 26, 2019
CrainMedia

Independence County has announced the arrest of three people wanted on felony charges and another on hindered an arrest.
On Thursday, the Independence County Sheriff’s Office along with the Arkansas Community Correction Batesville Office conducted a sex offender compliance check.
The sheriff’s department took about 25 percent of the offenders registered with the department and split them between two teams to visit them at their homes to check for things like smartphones, computers and WiFi.
For many, those items are not allowed and that’s why these checks are deemed necessary.
Of those visited, only two are possibly out of compliance.
After the compliance check was completed, the agencies looked for listed absconders in Independence County. During this authorities say there were three people with warrants located and another person taken into custody for hindering apprehension.
Arrested were 37-yearold Daniel McElroy, of Newport, wanted for Parole Violations and Felony Warrant, 38-year old Bill Travis Ballard, of Oil Trough, on a Felony Pick Order, 39-year old Adnan Thi Vance, of Batesville, wanted on Felony Probation Violation Warrant and Susanne Jakin charged with Hindering arrest.
