Hutchinson Announces Third Asia Trip

Governor Asa Hutchinson announced today that he will be traveling to China and Japan next week as part of an Arkansas Economic Development Commission trade mission to meet with business and government leaders. This will mark the Governor’s third trade mission to Asia with AEDC.
The Governor announced the trip during a ceremony on the campus of Arkansas State University. Risever, a Chinese company, signed a memorandum of understanding with the state of Arkansas to open its first factory in North America. The company, which manufactures counterweights for excavators, will invest $20.5 million to build and equip its factory. Risever has pledged to create 130 new jobs over a four-year period.
