Huckabee Sanders To Leave White House, Arkansas Gubernatorial Bid Rumored

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House Press Secretary and daughter of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, is stepping down from her White House role at the end of the month, with President Donald Trump encouraging her to run for governor.

Sanders, 36, began her job as press secretary in July 2017 and is only the third woman to hold the high-profile post.

In a Thursday afternoon tweet, President Trump announced Sanders upcoming departure.

“After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas. She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!” Trump said in the tweet.      MORE
