Gun Theft Investigations

Conway Police Department

Conway police are investigating an unusually high number of firearms thefts.

Police say in January, 25 guns were stolen. Ten of those were taken from a residential burglary with many others taken out of unlocked cars.

Police have no leads on any thieves, but of two of the firearms have been recovered. One at a local pawn shop and another at a local business.

The police department is asking residents to remember to lock your vehicles at all times, don’t store weapons in your vehicles and to secure weapons inside your home. While in some cases this may not keep you from becoming a victim, it lessens your chances and could help keep stolen guns off the streets.
