Crawford Tornado Damage

Governor Asa Hutchinson toured the tornado damage in Crawford County on Sunday morning and praised the emergency response.

An EF2 tornado with winds of about 120 miles per hour plowed through the middle of Mountainburg, uprooting trees, ripping roofs from homes and flipping vehicles off Interstate 49.

A total of nine tornadoes touched down in Arkansas during the storms.

The severe weather that went through Northeast Arkansas displaced more than 100 students at the University of Central Arkansas after a portion the roof of Carmichael Hall blew off.

The west wing of Carmichael Hall is reopened to residents however, the east wing will remain closed until further notice.

The storms created problems in the Greers Ferry area as well, as trees and power lines were reported down and a boat dock in the Narrows Marina area flipped over onto some boats.
