Governor To Grant Executive Clemency
July 08, 2019
CrainMedia

Governor Asa Hutchinson has announced his intent to grant 10 pardons. An additional 42 clemency requests were denied and 4 had no action taken upon it. These include requests from both inmates and non-inmates.
The applicants intended for pardons have completed all jail time, fulfilled all parole and probationary requirements and paid all fines related to their sentences. There is a 30-day waiting period to receive public feedback on the notices before final action is taken.
Among the intended pardons is Rommie McDaniel, of Bradford. McDaniel was convicted in 1990 and 1993 in Jackson County on four counts of Felony Burglary and Theft. However, the Prosecuting Attorney has raised objections to the applicant’s request. MORE
