Governmental Meetings

The Southside City Council and Independence County Quorum Court meet in regular session today.

The city council agenda will include a financial report and report on streets, street signs, City Hall, progress on ZIP code and the storm damages to systems.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:00pm in Southside City Hall, 2181 Batesville Boulevard.

Meanwhile the Quorum Court Agenda sees a couple of ordinances. The first amending the annual budget for 2019, for the purpose of transferring funds from the communications fund to the county general fund. The second establishing new funds and renaming existing funds in the books of the county; funding shall be derived from monthly property tax revenues.

The docket also sees four resolutions. The first authorizing the county judge to enter into an administrative agreement with white river planning and development district; a second authorizing the county judge to enter into an engineering agreement with Miller-Newell engineers; a third declaring a vacancy in the office of constable for Hill Township; and the last authorizing the circuit clerk to apply for a grant for a deed book scanning project.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:00pm at the Jess B. Carpenter Building, second floor courtroom, 192 E Main Street in Batesville.
