Governmental Meetings


Batesville, Conway, Pleasant Plains and Searcy City Council’s, Greenbrier School Board and the Southside Public Water Authority Board all have regularly scheduled meetings today.

Searcy may have the most interesting meeting as one topic scheduled to be on the agenda is discussion of considering imposing a 5 percent tax on alcoholic beverages served by private clubs within the city limits.

If approved, it would make the total tax on alcoholic beverages 28.5 percent.

The meeting is in the Council Chambers of Searcy City Hall, 401 West Arch Avenue beginning at 6:00PM.

It’s a very light agenda for the Conway City Council including a resolution expressing the willingness of the city of Conway to utilize federal – aid recreational trails program funds.

The docket also sees consideration to purchase a traffic light switch and storm drainage inspection cameras for the Street & Engineering Department, approving the bid for restroom facilities at Fifth Avenue and Beaverfork Parks and approving the nomination of Jake Nabholtz for the Conway Board of Directors.

That meeting begins at 6:30pm at Roberts District Court Building, 810 Parkway Street. AGENDA

On the Batesville City Council Agenda: consideration of an ordinance to amend a revised repayment schedule for the Sales and Use Tax Bond Series 2015.

The docket also sees a Police Department Report, Engineering Report and a proclamation declaring National Safe Digging Month.

This afternoon’s meeting begins at 5:30pm at the Batesville Municipal Building 500 E. Main Street. AGENDA

The Pleasant Plains City Council meeting begins at 6:00pm at City Hall, 100 East Wood Street.

The Greenbrier School Board meeting also begins at 6:00pm at 4 School Drive, in Greenbrier.
