George’s Buys Tennessee Meat Plant From Lopez Foods

Springdale-based poultry producer George’s Inc. has purchased Campos Foods from Oklahoma City-based Lopez Foods Inc. George’s announced the purchase on Monday (Nov. 27). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Campos Foods is in Caryville, Tenn., and has 285 employees. It produces fully-cooked pork, beef and turkey products for the retail, foodservice and convenience store sectors.

“The addition of Campos Foods fits as part of our overall growth strategy and continued focus on adding value for our customers and stakeholders,” said Charles George, co-chief executive officer of George’s.   MORE
