Four School Districts Closed Today

The Bald Knob, Batesville, Rose Bud and Southside School Districts are the latest to close due to the flu.

Each will be taking an Alternative Method of Instruction today due to illness among students and faculty.

The school absenteeism rate for White County last week was 8.9 percent and in Independence County it was 8.7 percent.

The four districts are hopeful with a four day break that includes Presidents Day on Monday, spread of the disease can be halted.

Officials are using the day for disinfecting of all buildings and also believe with students being away from each other spreading of the illness can be stymied.

The quartet join McRae and Riverview as school districts that have shut down due to the flu virus.
