Former State Senator Found Dead

An investigation is continuing today into the suspicious shooting death of former State Senator Linda Collins-Smith.

The senator’s former press secretary Ken Yang says the 57-year old conservative Pocahontas legislator was reportedly found dead from a gunshot wound and her death is being investigated as a murder.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation and Arkansas State Police are assisting.

According to Yang, neighbors had reportedly heard gunshots a day or two before Collins-Smith was discovered on Tuesday. Her body was reportedly found wrapped in some sort of blanket.     MORE
