FCSO Deputy Fired After Shooting Dog

Keenan Wallace

A Faulkner County Deputy has been fired after shooting a dog.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon at Shiloh Estates and was captured on a cell phone.

Sheriff Tim Ryals announced in a Facebook post on Saturday, that Deputy Keenan Wallace fired his service weapon that injured the animal while in close proximity to a citizen.

While it appears no policies or laws were violated, the Sheriff says Deputy Wallace has been relieved of his duties at the Faulkner County Sheriff’ Office and the investigation will be forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further review.

This isn’t the first time Deputy Wallace was involved in a shooting.  In September 2017, Wallace discharged his weapon after being dragged by a driver. No one was hurt in that incident, and prosecutors say Wallace was within his rights.
