CPD Investigates Death While In Custody
July 18, 2019
CrainMedia

Conway Police responded to the Oakwood Village Trailer Park located on East Robins on Tuesday for a domestic disturbance.
Authorities say 21-year-old Jaleel Medlock ran from the scene on foot from officers and at one point ran into a stopped patrol unit. After a brief chase, he was taken into custody.
Once in custody, Medlock lost consciousness and received immediate medical care by MEMS personnel who were present at the scene of his arrest. He was transported to Baptist Hospital where he subsequently died.
Medlock had no visible injuries and the cause of death is not known at this time.
Arkansas State Police are assisting in the investigating and Medlock’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
As is customary in these types of cases, the five officers who were present at the scene of this incident have been placed on paid administrative leave while this case is being investigated. MORE
