Conway Police Department

The Conway Police Department will be offering a Citizen’s Police Academy beginning Tuesday March 27th. Class size will be limited and registration will close once seats are filled.

The Citizen’s Academy will be open to anyone over 18 years of age who lives or works in the city limits of Conway and has no felony convictions, no misdemeanor convictions within the previous 12 months, and no prior conviction or pending cases for domestic battery or assault.

Applications must be filled out online.

This will be a “behind the scenes access” to the CPD.

Curriculum and Schedule:
(Primarily scheduled Tuesday nights from 6-9p with two optional Saturday sessions scheduled for the firing range and driving track.)

4-03-17 – Laws of Arrest – Search & Seizure – Use of Force
4-10-17 – Traffic Stop w/ Practicals
4-17-17 – Drug Enforcement – K-9 Unit Demo
4-24-17 – Crime Scenes – Truth Verification Machine (CVSA)
5-01-17 – Internet Crimes – ID Theft – Fraud
5-08-17 – Local Case Study and Firearms Simulator
5-12-17 – CPD Firing Range and SWAT (Practicals)
5-19-17 – Emergency Vehicle Operations (Practicals)
5-22-17 – Defensive Tactics
5-29-17 – Final Graduation and Evals

This is currently the only session for the Conway Citizen’s Police Academy Scheduled.
