A Faulkner County man has been sentenced for starting a fire at the Germantown Apartment Complex in 2017.
United States District Judge D.P. Marshall Jr. sentencing 52-year-old David Wayne Hartsell, of Conway, to 15 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Hartsell will also have to pay over $378,541 in restitution.
The fire in February of 2017 destroyed the 12-unit complex.
A federal grand jury indicted him on two counts of malicious destruction of property by mean of fire, with injury, and possession of a destructive device in furtherance of a crime of violence in July 2017. Hartsell pled guilty to Arson.
Two people were injured and a dog died in the fire and all 17 residents were displaced. MORE
