Christmas Parades And More


There are a lot of activities in the area to get you into the Christmas Spirit.

Tomorrow sees Christmas Parades in Heber Springs, Mayflower and Searcy, a Craft Bazaar & Pancake Breakfast, the Pioneer Village Old Fashioned Christmas and a Holiday Craft Fair among others.

The Pioneer Christmas Village runs from 10am – 3pm.  There will be carolers, hot cider and sugar cookies. The village will be decorated for Christmas from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.  Santa Claus will be there to take pictures with the kids.  Admission is free but donations are welcome. The Village is located at 1200 Higginson Street in Searcy.

The City of Mayflower’s annual Christmas in the Park community parade is tomorrow. The event in its 17th year, begins at 11:00am Saturday morning from Mayflower High School and concludes at Frank Pierce Park. Everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank. Santa will be making his appearance around 11:30am.

The Searcy Holiday of Lights Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 2nd beginning at 6pm.  Line up for the parade will begin at 4pm on Spring Street by Spring Park.  The parade route will begin at Spring Park, circle the Court Square onto Race Street and end at Berryhill Park.  All participants will need to use Christmas lights and play Christmas music.
