Boil Notices For Two Cities

ADH

A couple of water systems in the listening area are under a boil notice.

Arkansas Department of Health says the entire system of the McRae Waterworks is under the boil notice for an inadequate disinfectant level. The Mayflower Waterworks is under a boil notice for a construction related water line break.

Affected customers in Mayflower include those on Easterwood Point Road, Windsong Way, Annie Drive, Flag Pond Road, Jones Hill, Jones Hill Lane, Raney Pavilion Road and River Ridge Road.

Under the ‘Boil Water’ Notice, all affected customers are advised that the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.  All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.

This Notice will be lifted by the Department of Health when a bacteriological sample indicates that the water is free of bacterial contamination and an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system.     MORE
