ASU Museum To Present ‘Scary STEM,’ October 23rd

JONESBORO – This year, Mary Shelley’s famous novel, “Frankenstein,” turns 200.  To celebrate the bicentennial year of this story, Arkansas State University Museum will present a “Scary STEM” event complete with Frankenstein-themed activities Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 4 until 6 p.m.

“As they participate in various ‘lab’ experiments, guests will discover what blood is made of, and they’ll measure electricity found in their own bodies,” said Jill Kary, curator of education for the Museum.  “Further activities will encourage visitors to probe inside a frozen brain (made of ice), use simple materials to build a working battery, and much more.”

The event also is a feature of this year’s Arkansas Science Festival at A-State.    MORE
