Arkansas Train Depots
June 05, 2019
CrainMedia

Kids seem to naturally gravitate towards trains and if you’re lucky, you don’t grow out of your love of locomotives. Here in Arkansas, we are fortunate to have preserved many of the railroad depots across the state. Those listed on the National Register of Historic Places can be found through the Department of Arkansas Heritage’s website.
Among these interesting buildings that once welcomed travelers in key cities around our state: Frisco Depot in Fayetteville; Union Station in Little Rock; and Missouri Pacific Railroad Depots in Walnut Ridge, McGehee and Hempstead.
A free brochure with a map showcasing many of these historical railroad sites can be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped legal sized envelope to the Department of Arkansas Heritage.
