Arkansas $1.3 Billion Economic Boost

Good Roads Foundation

The Arkansas Good Roads Foundation held a news conference with the Arkansas State Chamber on Tuesday to announce a new study that outlines the dramatic and positive economic impact new highway funding will have in Arkansas.

The study says an additional $478 million annual investment on state highways alone is needed to preserve the current system, make safety improvements, increase capacity and invest in necessary equipment, facility and technology upgrades. This investment would not only bring the system up to a state of good repair but would also support at least $1.3 billion in economic activity across the state, supporting 5,729 jobs throughout all sectors of the economy.   MORE
