Area Road Improvements Get Approved

ARDOT

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for several area roadway improvements.

Among those approved are projects in Conway, Independence, Lawrence, Stone and White Counties.

Construction on the projects is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is
expected in late 2018.

CONWAY COUNTY

The purpose of this project is to surface approximately 1.5 miles of County Road 77 near Springfield.

CK Asphalt, LLC of Quitman was awarded the contract at $201,808.30.

INDEPENDENCE COUNTY

The purpose of this project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 2.2 miles of County Road 89 (Antioch Road/Shamrock Lane) near Walnut Grove and 1.2 miles of County Road 24 near Jamestown.

Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $325,261.35.

LAWRENCE COUNTY

The purpose of this project is to resurface approximately 1.5 miles of selected sections of various city streets in Hoxie to include: S.E. 4th Street, S.E. Pecan Street, S.W. Maple/S.W. Andrews Streets, State Street, and S.E. 2nd Street.

Sugg Construction, Inc. of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $233,390.60.

STONE COUNTY

The purpose of this project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 1.6 miles of County Road 87 near Big Springs.

CK Asphalt, LLC of Quitman was awarded the contract at $220,953.66.

WHITE COUNTY

The purpose of this project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 3.1 miles of County Road 78 (Fairview Road) near Dewey and approximately 2.2 miles of County Road 184 (Velvet Ridge Road) near Velvet Ridge.

CK Asphalt, LLC of Quitman was awarded the contract at $528,104.37.
