Area Road Improvement Bids Approved

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved several bids for improvements to roadways in Faulkner,Izard, Lawrence, Pulaski, Stone and Van Buren Counties.

Arkansas Department of Transportation officials say the purpose of the project in Faulkner County is to widen and resurface selected sections of approximately 3.1 miles of County Road 27 (W. Republican Rd.) and approximately 4 miles of County Road 33 (Pinnacle Springs Rd.)

Delta Asphalt of Ark., Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $867,696.53.

In Izard County, the purpose of the project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 2 miles of County Road 55 and approximately 1.3 miles of County Road 61.

Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $424,811.06.

In Lawrence County, the purpose of the project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 0.4 mile of various city streets in Powhatan, to include: Lindsey St. and Foley Dr.;  and approximately 2.4 miles of various city streets in Walnut Ridge, to include: E. Fulbright Ave., S. Miller Dr., W. Poplar St., NE Front St., NE 2nd St., and E. Georgia St.

Delta Asphalt of Ark., Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $400,158.36.

In Pulaski County, the purpose of the project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 1.3 miles of various city streets in Wrightsville, to include: Gannaway Dr., W. Front St., Adams St., Clark Ave. and 4th St.

Redstone Construction Group, Inc. of Little Rock was awarded the contract at $298,513.00.

In Stone County, the purpose of this project is to resurface approximately 1.9 miles of County Road 46 starting at State Highway 14 and continuing northward.

Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $227,451.51.

In Van Buren County the purpose of this project is to resurface 7.2 miles of State Highway 9 between the Conway County line and U.S. Highway 65.

Delta Asphalt of Ark., Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $1,133,561.24.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2018.
