Area Road Improvement Bids Approved

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved several bids for area road improvements in Cleburne, Independence, Lawrence, Lonoke, Prairie and White Counties.
Cleburne County
The purpose of the first project is to overlay 5 miles of County Roads 77 and 79 near Ida.
Delta Asphalt of Arkansas, Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $497,486.85.
The purpose of the second project is to replace two bridges on State Highway 25 near Quitman.
West Plains Bridge & Grading of West Plains, Missouri, was awarded the contract at $3,670,500.00.
INDEPENDENCE COUNTY
The purpose of this project is to overlay 3.6 miles of various county roads to include County Road 16 (Gainsboro Road) and County Road 42 (Mt. Hermon Road) near Gainsboro, County Road 206 (Wildwood), and County Road 53 (Thida Road) near Union Hill.
Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $353,269.55.
LAWRENCE COUNTY
The purpose of this project is to overlay 2 miles of County Road 22 between State Highway 63 and County Road 96 near Black Rock.
Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $272,476.12.
LONOKE COUNTY
The purpose of this project is to overlay 2.1 miles of County Road 348 near Carrington.
Rogers Group, Inc. of Nashville, Tennessee, was awarded the contract at $656,692.32.
PRAIRIE COUNTY
The purpose of the first project is to reseal 2 miles of County Road 15 near Des Arc.
Salt Creek Paving & Construction Company, Inc. of Benton was awarded the contract at $57,516.44.
The purpose of the second project is to resurface 1.5 miles of County Road 514 (Rogers Chapel Road) near Childers.
Salt Creek Paving & Construction Company, Inc. of Benton was awarded the contract at $145,989.76.
WHITE COUNTY
The purpose of this project is to overlay 3.7 miles of County Roads 47 and 78 near Holly Springs and two miles of County Road 90 near Garner.
Delta Asphalt of Arkansas, Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $604,181.29.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2019.
