A Date That Will Live In Infamy

It was 77 years ago today, that Japanese warplanes started a historic assault on the Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, that would leave 2,403 Americans dead and thrust the United States into war.

And for the first time at today’s ceremony, no one who survived the bombing of the USS Arizona battleship will be in the audience. All five of the survivors weren’t healthy enough to travel — and a stark reminder that the number of World War II veterans is dwindling.
