MSD Terminates Accused Employee

James Seger II

At a special meeting on Monday night, the Midland School Board unanimously voted to terminate 45-year-old James V. Seger II’s employment with the district, effective immediately.

Seger, the former technology coordinator, is currently in the Independence County jail on a $800,000 bond after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with at least two students.

Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens says Seger is officially charged with three counts of internet stalking of a child, six counts of first degree sexual assault and two counts of second degree sexual assault.
