Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested


Beebe police say the man suspected of robbing a bank late Monday afternoon has been arrested.

50-year old Patrick Loren Lucero was arrested early this morning in Faulkner County.

He faces a charge of aggravated robbery in the holdup of the Simmons First Bank branch in Beebe.

The Beebe Police Department is investigating a bank robbery from Monday afternoon.

Police say at approximately 4:53PM, they received an emergency call advising of a robbery in progress at Simmons 1st Bank of Beebe. 

Murder Suspects Say Innocent


Three Faulkner County residents pled not guilty Monday to the November shooting death of 53-year-old Gary Phillips.

21-year old Keenan Beacham, 24-year old Vennessa Lyons and 32-year old Johnny Reed, Jr., all of Conway, were arrested in December in connection to Phillips’ death.

Wal-Mart Launches Free 2-Day Shipping


SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Jan. 31, 2017– Walmart announced free two-day shipping to home and stores on more than two million items, without a membership fee. The new offer is available starting at 7:00AM CST today. With this announcement, Walmart has also lowered the minimum purchase required for free shipping to home to $35, from $50. Items being shipped to stores continue to have no price threshold.

Izard County Arrests

Timothy Scott Derrickson

It’s a Thursday court date for two Izard County residents on drug charges.

Authorities say arrested Friday were 38-year old Timothy Scott Derrickson, of Oxford and 49-year old Catherine Anna Mansfield, of Melbourne.

Home Invasion Investigation

The Independence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion from Monday afternoon.

Deputies responded to the scene of a break-in in which a woman fired at least one shot at the suspects.

Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens tells KAIT a woman called the sheriff’s office and said the suspects tried to break into her home just north of Batesville in the Spring Valley area.

Toad Suck Daze Wins


Toad Suck Daze is the state’s top festival of 2016.

The three-day, family-friendly festival earned the gold award in the Festival of the Year category at the 2017 ALFiE (Arkansans Love Festivals and Events) Awards Luncheon, which took place Jan. 26 during the Arkansas Festivals and Events Association’s annual conference and trade show in Little Rock.
